Product Description

Polaroid filters continue the brand's long legacy of superior optical solutions. All our filters are carefully formulated to ensure consistent color and accuracy throughout the entire surface of the glass. Why? Consistent color means consistent high quality results. We know that a poorly made filter makes a great lens and camera worthless, that's why the our frame rings are constructed of special alloys that won't expand or contract over time or due to temperature extremes-it's also why we back our filters with an 10 year warranty-because we engineer them to last.

Like all Polaroid optics, Polaroid filters are precision manufactured to the most demanding of tolerances. This ensures consistent high quality results even after years of use.

  • Use larger aperture settings in bright light, permitting a shallow depth of field and beautiful background blur
  • Will not effect the color or detail of a scene
  • Eliminates overexposed & washed out images
  • 6 filters in 1 - Variable range: ND3, ND6, ND9, ND16, ND32, ND400

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Variable ND Filters (I own both the 67mm and 58mm), October 27, 2011

A must for anyone looking to get shallow depth of field when shooting HD video on a DSLR camera. On a sunny day there is no way to get a wide aperture without one of these. A polarizer can be used as an alternative, but will not provide nearly the same light blockage necessary to get really nice shallow depth of field on a sunny day when shooting video with your DSLR. I own both the 67mm and 58mm and they both produce nice results.

If you like keeping the variable ND filter on your lens like I do, keep in mind that each filter requires a lens cap that is one step larger than the filter. Example the 67mm requires a 72mm lens cap and the 58mm requires a 62mm lens cap.

Here is my workflow for shooting in sunny conditions. White balance with ND filter on. Set ISO to 160. Choose the f-stop you want. If shooting in 30 fps set your shutter to 1/60th of a second and dial in the ND filter to get the proper exposure. If shooting in 24 fps, set your shutter to 1/50th of a... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great filter, July 13, 2011

Nice quality, and functions just fine as other more expensive ND filters.

No 'X' factor. In case you don't know what that is, the crossing the 'lines' when turned is not visible. I haven't seen it but it depends on your lens and f: stop. Canon, Nikon, etc. kit lens won't see it.
